I wanted to learn about boat electrics to do jobs on my yacht and had seen the advert for Meco on Facebook. The course materials are excellent — it starts with absolute basics and builds from there. I thought I knew a bit about electrics but there are some subtle but important differences for the marine environment. There are useful exercises at the end of each chapter. Highly recommended, I now am about to start the level 2 course.

As a complete novice, this course was an excellent introduction into boat electrics. Very clear and concise and easy to follow. It has given me a great base to understand the functions of equipment on board and, most importantly, safety factors to consider. I have completed both Course 1 and 2 and have revisited both of them, which has been exceptionally worthwhile to reinforce the knowledge gained.
Fantastic course, brilliant pace and examples. Managed to explain all of the technical points in a very practical way with great context.
This course is excellent for total beginners like me. It was an eye‑opener on the intricacies of boat electrics. I am keen to start with the second course as, in the words of Albert Einstein: “The more I know, the more I realize I do not know.”
This was an excellent starter course. As a longtime boater, I have always wanted to better understand the boat electrical system. I want to be able to test and make minor repairs. This course was great to build a foundation of how things work. I look forward to the next course.

Excellent explanation of the boat electrical components and provided a clear understanding of the battery switch “make before break” settings… I always felt unsure of this before taking the course.

Excellent, informative, straight‑forward teaching approach, with no‑nonsense methods.
Excellent Level 2 course with easy‑to‑follow lessons. The quizzes are a great stressless way of ensuring the pertinent points of each lesson have been understood. I chose to do both Level 1 and Level 2 exams and found that the revision reinforced the learning and understanding. I am planning to undertake Level 3 in 2025.
I've been through the Level 1 course work and it's really good to better understand how the electrical system works on a boat. The support has been very good and allows me to take the theory within the course and apply it to our boat. David Punch has been very helpful in answering questions both about the course and practical questions for our boat. Over the next week we'll find out how well I understand the course material—exam day looms!
